I wasn’t even aware that I was grinding my teeth in my sleep until my dentist told me that the teeth in the back were damaged from the night time grinding. He said that sometimes stress can trigger a person to start grinding their teeth at night, and the fact that my jaw was working overtime in my sleep might even explain the headaches that I was having. Luckily, we were able to put a stop to the problem with a retainer-like device that I wear at night.
